Vancouver Fitness and Glamour Photographer

This gallery is not about a photographic genre, but about my personal preference.

I do enjoy all kinds of photography where eyes do not play an integral role in the photo but i prefer to capture this feature of a person more than any other. There are many reason why they eyes do not take a preferential role in photos and that is when the photos is NOT about the person in it, but instead intention is to draw your attention away from the individual personality toward some thing like wardrobe or necklace or hair style etc. Whenever the object of the photo is to present a moment or story, sell wardrobe or present a physique a models attention may be directed away from the viewer so her peronality or appearance does not draw the viewer away from the article intended to attract your attention.

So to me the model is either IN the photo and is capable of owning it to the extent that you hardly notice the wardrobe or background, or the model and photographer intentionally take her out of it so that your attention and gaze is on the product being sold. So there is a valid reason for both extremes and many style in between.

I am primarily a glamor photographer as i simplistically define glamour as being about the individual in the shot and wardrobe, situation or other aspects of the photo are less important. Since I prefer to and it is my habit to focus on the eyes when a model looks away I find that i have to force myself to push the shutter as it feel unnatural unless we are shooting jeans and then who cares who is in them as long as they fit well and the physique or body parts make those jeans look good. :) I do not even enjoy photographing a model in sun glasses for this same reason.

So i picked a few shots to illustrate that even though there may be other beautiful and very interesting features in the photos the viewer is hopefully drawn to the eyes first and before they scan the rest of the image. Clearly there will be some who do not see the eyes first but hopefully they are the exception.
